Bret Korcykoski, Principal of R.A.K. Sales, is a proud Clevelander born and raised, and currently resides in Hudson, OH - a small community about 30 minutes south.  Apart from two very brief stints out of state he has lived there all his life.

Bret started in the lighting business in 1995 working for the Kichler Lighting showroom representative.  In 1999, after four years of selling, training and installing landscape lighting, Bret took the position of Landscape Lighting Market Development Manager at Kichler Lighting.  Eventually he was promoted to Eastern Regional Sales Manager. All the while, forging life-long relationships and learning his craft.  In 2006 Bret realized he was much more suited to being in the field rather than behind a desk, looking at spreadsheets.  Using his knowledge, experience and relationships, Bret left Kichler to become their independent sales representative in Ohio and Michigan. He finally got to do what a very dear friend told him once, “I get to drive around all day, talking with my friends”.

At that time R.A.K. Sales was a one-man operation representing only Kichler in the states of Ohio and Michigan.  Naming the agency R.A.K. Sales was a tribute to his father, Richard, who had passed away just a year before Bret started his agency and who, among other things, instilled in Bret a strong work ethic.

R.A.K. Sales has proudly grown into a four-person organization that currently represents 10 manufacturers in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Western Pennsylvania.  They also partner with Prism Sales to represent manufacturers in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Missouri.

R.A.K. Sales is dedicated to being more than just a sales team by providing education, merchandising, and marketing assistance to their distributor partners.  They also offer training and assistance for contractors to help them increase revenue and profits.

Bret and his wife, Cindy (his best friend and best travel companion anyone could ask for), have three adult children.  When not working, Bret enjoys traveling, wrenching on cars, woodworking, and working in the yard.  But his favorite activity outside work is spending time with his two grandsons, Sonny (4) and Frank (2).
